Welcome to Darkes Glenbernie Orchard! For five generations and over 80 years our family has lived here and grown fruit. We are a hidden spot within Sydney's water catchment and our closest neighbour is Dharrawal National Park. It's beautiful here.

Let us share a few secrets with you! The blossoms happen very quickly and each variety only last a matter of a week or so! This is a ‘real’ working orchard with a real history. We are real farmers.

So you'd like your children to understand seasons and how fruit grows from its very beginning? This is a chance to see the early stages of the fruit growing cycle. The kids can see what a tree looks like moving from Winter into spring time. Perfect for beautiful pictures too! See what a baby nectarine and peach looks like at its earliest growing point. Compare later in the year when you return to pick your fruit from the same trees.  This activity is planned to be around 1 hour. Please wear closed in shoes.

Do not wear thongs or sandals. Wear shoes that are comfortable to walk in.

PLEASE NOTE: DO NOT ARRIVE LATE! (We leave together on a tractor with allocated seating. We drive within the farm to the best place to view the blossoms. We take you to the blossoms where you will get off to walk among the beauty of our trees and then ride the tractor back again).
Please arrive 15 mins earlier than the advertised activity start time, to ensure the group is organised and can start on time.

Upon arrival, we will greet you and take you through a brief safety induction and bio security check. You are then given your allocated seat and we drive to the best spot for photos and have your own time to walk through the blossoms.

Please do not visit us if you have had symptoms of any illness in the past 14 days.

Please follow our COVID safe procedures including: ·

  • Use hand sanitizer on entry·
  • Please stay seated in your allocated seat row. You cannot change row.
  • Keep 1.5m from others
  • It’s OK to wear a mask – we welcome that

There will be great personal photo opportunities, so be sure to pack your camera!

PLEASE NOTE:

LATENESS:

We will leave on time at the advertised start time, so not to disadvantage the group and keep to our schedule. If you are late we cannot catch you up. These groups will book out. We regret cannot give refunds for being late.

Our activities run in most weather conditions, so make sure you bring weather appropriate clothing (it can be wet or hot even when not forecast), closed in shoes, and your camera for some happy snaps!

WEATHER:

If the weather is too bad to run the walks we will let you know and if we cancel we will give full refund.

CANCELLATIONS:

If you choose to cancel 48 hrs or more before the activity you will get a refund minus the booking fee. If you choose to cancel within 48 hrs of the activity commencing you will forfeit any fee paid and will not receive a refund.
